For 50 years, South Los Angeles Health Projects (SLAHP) has championed health initiatives that have transformed South Los Angeles communities. Our agency has received recognition and awards for our services. The California Department of Public Health awarded us for serving eligible children for WIC services, the National WIC Association recognized us as health equity champions, and the California WIC Association acknowledged our advocacy efforts. Our award-winning team envisions a world where every family is healthy and every community thrives.
Our organization’s most valuable assets are our team members. We foster a culture of radical evolution, prioritizing equity and radically transforming our work within the community. Our team consists of individuals that engage in open-ended communication, motivate; we lead by example, and adapt to the ever-changing world. We aim to achieve radical health and food justice for our communities by working on breaking those barriers. Our awards and recognitions demonstrate our efforts and commitment to improve and safeguard health outcomes by educating and empowering families to live healthier lives.
